Abstract

Today's experiments are abstract in nature. I have a couple more designs in this same group that aren't quite ready yet. I think they might need some type. I like the energy that comes from the sharp angles, and repeating lines. But it still feels like another layer of information (through type) would strengthen them.

I've been drawing inspiration from the Flaming Lips recently. I want to recreate the energy and emotion that they create in their songs, without lifting words directly. I want to retranslate the experience into different images and words.

Loads of scribbles

This shirt is a combination of a couple days worth of quick sketches I've done. I wanted it to be as rough as possible, almost to the point of being unrecognizable at first glance. So the eternal question still stands, would you wear it?

Today's sketches

Couple of sketches today. I've been trying to try new styles and include new subject matter, to see what brews up.

Rough Tee idea

I'm thinking about cleaning up the bugs. Maybe putting some more detail in there. But then again, the rough nature of the drawing is kind of nice. What do you think?

Raul the Owl

An Owl. With a mustache. I didn't mean to draw it with a mustache. It just happened. Weird.

Drum machine

I'm planning on expanding this one. Adding some type, maybe some textures or patterns around the edges. Any Ideas?
