I've been to busy to sketch recently. I know what you're thinking, "He must spend at least 10 hours on each one of these sketches!" It's not easy to find that kind of time! This one was a little bit more involved. Just shy of 15 hours. You can't see it on the internet but each line is made up of almost microscopic stipples. Not to mention the intense hours of conceptualizing.

Monkey Script Update
My highly informed typography enthusiast friend Brandt found some info about the font I posted earlier. This is what he said:
Turns out Monkey Script has a lengthy and quite famous history. It was originally called Civilite. Apparently the face began in 1556. Back then it looked more like thick calligraphy, but by the 1590s it was adopted and cut into lead, turning most cuts into what your sample shows. Of course a number of people have redrawn the face but returned the letters back to their original forms, not with ink bleed compensation.

Sweaty Palm / Yesterday's Beef / Rack Attack
Sweaty Palm was inspire by wet moldy Oregon. Dank, musty springtime.
The other two are an effort to create images as quickly as possible. Usually with one pen stroke.

Another round of sketches
Some more birds. Some more wolves. Some other stuff. I think some of these will become t-shirt designs later on.

Monkey Script
I was digging through some old stuff at work and found a project I was working on a while ago. I had a pretty slow week and was just learning Fontlab studio (a program for creating fonts.) I took this amazing old letterpress type that I found and digitized it during that week. I had to recreate some of the letters that weren't in the original piece I was working from. I call it monkey script. I have no idea if it even exists anymore. I've never seen in anywhere else.

I heart Holga
I've been in a holga mood recently. Ethan and I spent a rainy afternoon at the tennis courts that was begging to be documented. He had just learned to walk about a week before. He's the best.
